FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT’S DESK
Building an Unrivaled Learning Community
I am proud to serve as Superintendent in the Oconomowoc Area School District. Oconomowoc is a community that values education and provides incredible support for its schools. We have much to be proud of in Oconomowoc.
Last year, four of our schools attained a ranking of Significantly Exceeds Expectations on the State of Wisconsin School Report Card. This achievement is the highest number of OASD schools in achieving this honor since the inception of the State Report Card. However, we will not rest until we reach our goal to have every one of our schools meet that standard.
This fall marked the completion of the facilities projects that were a part of the 2016 referendum. We welcomed Meadow View Elementary students, families, and staff to their new school in September! As a District, we continue to be grateful for the community’s support for these projects.
Finally, we spent a significant amount of time last spring, developing a new strategic plan which will set the course for the future of the OASD. This new strategic plan is exciting and has aggressive goals which will drive us toward our vision to be unrivaled among our peers. You can learn more about our new strategic plan here.
We celebrate the efforts and successes of many people in the OASD. The achievements are a testament to the determination and strength of the faculty, staff, building leadership, and the students in our schools. Most importantly, our successes come as a result of the incredible support for OASD by our parents and the greater Oconomowoc community. Strong schools and healthy, vibrant communities are closely linked. As such, our quality schools are very much a product of our community.
It is our vision for the OASD to become an unrivaled learning community, seeking wisdom, honoring the past, and to shape the future. We are driven in our work, and we look forward to making continued strides this year to help make that vision a reality for our students and our community.
